History of the church

Greater Community Church - 301 Dorchester Ave. in Cincinnati, OH

Greater Community Church was founded in February 2006 by Pastor Ron Evans. The services began in his home on Monday evenings, with a small few. Eventually Pastor Ron and his small group of members moved their services to the Urban League of Cincinnati, where the small few quickly grew from about 6-8 members to over 30. Again, by faith, hard work and dedication, Pastor Ron and his now close to 60 members moved to the building that is now known as Greater Community Church, located at 301 Dorchester Ave. in Cincinnati, OH in May of 2008.

Greater Community Church was founded on the principle that all are welcome. Through the building and development of the congregation, a strong sense of community and love has formed and has drawn many newcomers to the church and continues to do so.

Many members of the church are reflections of the communities surrounding it. It could not go unnoticed that there were many issues not only from neighborhood to neighborhood, but also between members of the same neighborhoods that needed to be addressed. Crime, violence, and hatred are running rampant in many majority black neighborhoods, and it needs to stop. This is where the One Love Unity campaign and movement was developed.

Through Pastor Ron, and the members of Greater Community Church, it was decided that it was time to start taking actions against these evils that are plaguing and separating our race.
